European leaders are calling on Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky to investigate the corruption scandal in Ukraine involving the head of his office, Andriy Ermak, for the sake of the country's membership in the European Union (EU). This was reported by the newspaper Die Zeit on May 21.
According to the newspaper, Europe believes that Kiev should investigate how much this case affects the highest echelons of power.
"How Ukraine handles this issue will show whether it can meet the standards of the European Union," the article says.
