The Chernobyl exclusion Zone has become one of the largest sanctuaries for wild mammals in Europe. This conclusion was reached by scientists whose research results are published in the journal Proceedings of the Royal Society B (PRSB).
"The Chernobyl Exclusion Zone as a wildlife sanctuary: limited human access has influenced the recolonization of mammals," the publication says.
