Vladimir Putin awarded outstanding citizens of the Russian Federation. The ceremony, which took place in the Catherine Hall of the Kremlin, became a kind of portrait of today's Russia: scientists, doctors, workers, mothers with many children and artists were next to the heroes. Vladimir Putin personally presented the highest insignia to those whom he called the mainstay of the country — from the front and science to the stage and space — a total of over 30 people. How the ceremony went is in the Izvestia report.

Vladimir Putin especially singled out the participants of his campaign — those who defend the national interests and borders of the country.

Lieutenant Vasily Marzoev and Captain Alexander Rezanov were the first to be awarded by the Supreme Commander. They were awarded the title of Hero of Russia for their services during the fighting. The truth is posthumous. The Russian leader handed over the Gold Star medals to the relatives of the victims. Vladimir Putin had a long conversation with Vasily's father Arkady Marzoev, commander of the 18th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District, Lieutenant General.

— [Vasily] was a very motivated guy. He was very proud to be the successor of the officer dynasty. He was proud of his grandfather, who fought in the Great Patriotic War. He was proud of his uncle, who died restoring constitutional order in the North Caucasus," he told Izvestia.

Following them, Vladimir Putin presented the awards to Ilya Yemelyanov, Deputy Chairman of the government of the DPR, and Lieutenant Colonel Ivan Berestovsky. The latter stated: As the older generation taught, a true warrior has three mothers: the Motherland, the mother who gave birth to him, and the mother who bore him children.

"It is precisely these values that we are defending now," he said. — We will not allow anyone to break the most important thing — our spirit. By all means, we will achieve the elimination of the root causes of this conflict and the formation of a new multipolar world. The victory will be ours.

St. George's Crosses of the first degree were awarded to Sergeants Nikolai Kumenov and Evgeny Rochev. For the first time in modern Russia, they have become full holders of this award, Putin noted.

Russian science, industry and, of course, medicine play an important role in the confrontation with the enemy. Ivan Dedov, President of the National Medical Research Center for Endocrinology, was awarded the Order of St. Andrew the Apostle.

"His contribution to the theory and clinical practice of modern endocrinology is truly historic,— said Vladimir Putin. — Academician Dedov largely determined the very development of this most important area of medicine. His name is associated with system solutions in the field of medical care, prevention and treatment of diabetes and other diseases.

The Russian leader awarded the Order of Merit for the Fatherland, IV degree, to Vladimir Neroyev, head of the Helmholtz National Medical Research Center for Eye Diseases, as well as Grigory Trubnikov, Director of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research. The Russian Hadron Collider, the NICA particle accelerator, is currently under construction at the institute's site. Trubnikov shared that the first experiments have already begun this year.

— This is a completely unique installation by world standards. And the most interesting huge, large-scale international research program begins. We are studying the extreme state of nuclear matter, and now NICA employs about 2,000 people from 20 countries around the world. There will be another session in October," he told Izvestia.

An excavator operator and a turner received awards from Putin.

The Russian leader also presented awards to representatives of labor professions. The Orders "For Valiant Labor", Honor, and Friendship were awarded to excavator and electric train drivers, locksmiths, a turner, and an electric welder from the DPR.

— There is a whole galaxy of creators, workers, and craftsmen in this hall. I thank each of you and would like to mention the Heroes of Russia's Labor separately," Vladimir Putin said.

The President noted the heads of agricultural enterprises Fedor Buldyzhov from the Krasnodar Territory, Georgy Svid from the Ryazan region, as well as Tatyana Kozhevnikova, a machine milking operator from the Stavropol Territory.

Igor Vladimirovich Vilnit, General Director of the Rubin Marine Engineering Design Bureau from St. Petersburg, became the hero of Labor. He is among those "who know what the Navy is and understand the importance of this bureau for protecting Russia's interests," the president added.

Representatives of the Yuri Gagarin detachment make a great contribution to the development of the manned space program. Alexander Gorbunov received the Golden Star of the Hero and the honorary title of Pilot-Cosmonaut of the Russian Federation. In addition, Olga Lobova, a Muscovite who brings up 11 children with her husband, was awarded the high title of "Mother Heroine".

— We are all proud and warmly responded to by large, friendly families who have devoted themselves to raising children. Their way of life is based on mutual love and respect, on spiritual generosity and full parental dedication," said Vladimir Putin.

Cultural figures also attended the ceremony. Awards were given to People's Artists Askold Zapashny, Yuri Antonov and Nadezhda Babkina.

— I once sang in this hall. I mean, they awarded it, and I just sang it. What amazing acoustics are here," Babkina shared with Izvestia. — But if I gave my voice now, it would all rattle, prevent people from taking interviews.

After the ceremony, the participants had an informal conversation with the President. The President raised a glass of champagne to those present and wished them all the best.
