More than 1.3 thousand people were affected by ticks in the Krasnoyarsk Territory in a week

1,309 people applied to medical institutions in the Krasnoyarsk Territory for help in connection with sucking ticks. This is reported by the regional Rospotrebnadzor.

"Over the past week, 1,309 residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory suffered from the suction of ticks, 338 of them children. Three more cases of tick—borne infections have also been registered in seven days," the report says.

Tick-borne viral encephalitis was detected in a 71-year-old man. The pensioner picked up a tick at the Minino station, according to Rospotrebnadzor. Borreliosis was confirmed in a 29-year—old resident of Berezovka, and Siberian tick-borne typhus in a 19-year-old resident of the Minusinsk municipal district, writes KrasnoyarskMedia news agency.

In total, 3,630 people have been affected by ticks in the Krasnoyarsk Territory since the beginning of the epidemic season. Anti-tick treatments are continuing in public places.

On May 18, it was reported that about 60 more hectares of territory were treated from ticks in Krasnoyarsk. The drugs used are safe for humans and animals, the city authorities assured.

On May 19, Rospotrebnadzor reported that since the beginning of the season, more than 84,000 Russians have turned to doctors after being bitten by ticks. At the same time, about the same number of victims, according to experts, did not seek medical help.
