The chief architect of Alushta was detained for a bribe

Alexander Strubalin, the chief architect of Alushta, was detained on suspicion of receiving a particularly large bribe. This was announced on May 21 by a source of Izvestia.

According to his information, the architect was detained on May 20. He was given a preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave. Strubalin served as Head of the Urban Planning and Architecture Department of the Alushta administration, and also holds the title of Honored Architect of the Crimea.

Strubalin was wanted under Article 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, part 5, paragraph "B" ("Receiving a large bribe").

On May 4, the Investigative Committee announced that the court had sentenced the former deputy head of the Rosselkhoznadzor Department for the North Caucasus Federal District to eight years in prison for accepting a bribe. The official offered the director of the organization to transfer 3 million rubles to him in exchange for the termination of inspections on pre-trial claims and the abandonment of the claim for damages.
