Glavgosexpertiza of Russia has approved the construction project of the Oktyabrskoye electric depot for the Krasnoyarsk metro tramway, Russia's first depot for this type of transport. This is reported by the office of the press service of the governor and the government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory.

"The project provides for the construction of both the structures of the Oktyabrskoye electric depot itself, as well as the construction of underground tunnels for the service connecting line to the Vysotnaya station, as well as the construction of residential premises for metro builders," said Konstantin Matveev, CEO of Mosproekt—3 holding.

The depot will be built along Vysotnaya Street, between Karbysheva Street and TV Lane. This is an unused plot of 3.43 hectares, the territory has already begun to be cleared and the foundation for future construction is being prepared.

According to the KrasnoyarskMedia news agency, the depot will maintain and repair wagons, equip and wash them, and sharpen wheel sets. The complex will include a main building with an area of 34.5 thousand square meters, substations, a compressor station, and sewage treatment plants. Management and technological services will be located in the renovated building of the former trolleybus depot No. 2.

In February, it was reported that Krasnoyarsk had postponed the completion date of the first metro tram line to 2028. Initially, the commissioning of the infrastructure facility was scheduled for the end of 2026.
