"The Sea—Sea Highway" entered the competition of the New Movement Film Festival

The film "The Sea—Sea Highway" was included in the competition program of the New Movement Festival of young cinema, which will be held in Veliky Novgorod from May 28 to June 1.

The road movie directed by Ilya Khramov, winner of the Cannes Shorts Festival (2023), was his feature film debut. The film stars Aram Vardevanyan, Yulia Frants, Oleg Ots and Daria Matveeva in the lead roles.

"My film "The Sea—Sea Highway" is about the eternal search for happiness, about difficulties, dangers and the most unexpected encounters on the way to it. Our heroes are rushing towards their fate without letting go of the gas pedal. We made our own movie about people, love and speed," said director Ilya Khramov.

"It's always good when a film starts its journey from the festival. I think our cinema on the "New Movement" will "feel" great! I have heard a lot of good things about this festival and I am glad that I will be able to visit it with the "Sea—Sea Highway". Our film tells the story of four people with different temperaments, characters and desires. They are forced to travel in one car (where there is not much space) for more than 2000 km — from St. Petersburg to Sochi. On this trip, they will get to know each other from an unexpected side, and someone, like my hero, will change a lot," shared Aram Vardevanyan, the performer of the role of photographer of the Theme.

"The New Movement is a festival of everything new and young in our cinema. And our film is charged with the energy of youth. First of all, the story itself is fresh. Secondly, the creative team consisted of 80 percent of children under the age of 25. They filmed about what they should be most concerned about at this time — about love and responsibility. And it's visible, felt through the screen. I'm sure we've got a real, as Sergey Mikhailovich Selyanov says, "Fresh"!" said producer Pavel Poluychyk.

The film will be released on July 9th. The distributor is the NMG Film Distribution company (part of the National Media Group holding).
