According to Izvestia, the businessman's son Sergey Kornilov caused a massive accident in a Mercedes at the Pokhvalinsky Congress in Nizhny Novgorod. Before the incident, Kornilov posted a video on his Telegram channel in which, with a glass of wine in his hands, he stated that he had drunk a lot. At the same time, he responded rudely to user comments and humiliated people because of their financial condition. Shortly after the accident, the drunk driver himself posted photos and videos of himself posing on the hood of a wrecked car.

Izvestia learned that Kornilov's father was the CEO of the Louis Group and died in 2024. His company is engaged in the creation of special equipment, metal products, as well as the sale and maintenance of machines.

Later, the man said that immediately after the accident he went to a restaurant. Instead of greeting, the young man made an obscene joke and stated that he was ready to answer questions only at the table of the establishment. At the same time, commenting on the accident, he claimed that he was sober and just "hit the car." Kornilov's mother, in turn, said that she did not know where her son was currently and what motivated his actions.

The reaction of law enforcement agencies

The Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Nizhny Novgorod region stated that four administrative materials were compiled against Kornilov after he provoked a massive road accident in Nizhny Novgorod. When checking the young man, it turned out that he had already been repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility before this accident.
