Any transactions with frozen Russian assets without the consent of the Russian Federation are illegal and all those involved will have to answer. This was announced on May 21 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"Any operations that they carry out with our assets without Russia's consent are illegal. What the European Commission is doing is undisguised robbery, and any attempts to whitewash it with pseudo—legal formulas <...> are untenable," Zakharova said at a briefing.

She added that the profits from operations with frozen Russian money, which the European Union (EU) transfers as military support to the Kiev regime, were obtained solely through the illegal seizure of Russian assets. At the same time, all persons responsible for these acts in the EC will be held accountable.

The claim of the Central Bank of Russia against Euroclear for €200 billion (about 18.2 trillion rubles) it was satisfied by the Arbitration Court of the city of Moscow on May 15. The European side considered this ruling allegedly "unfair." The Reuters news agency has learned that the defendants intend to challenge the decision made against them.

Two days later, the leader of the French Patriots party, Florian Philippot, said that the Moscow court's lawsuit had caused panic in Europe, as such, in his opinion, could paralyze it. According to him, the payment of the claim would have prevented the financing of Ukraine. In turn, on May 20, the Central Bank of the Russian Federation indicated the need for urgent enforcement of the decision on the claim against Euroclear.
