Sobyanin noted Moscow's leadership in high-tech industries

Moscow ranks first in the country in terms of revenue in the medical, aviation, rocket and space industries, as well as in electric vehicles and radio electronics. The mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin, told about this in the Maks messenger.

According to him, there are more companies in the city that produce critical goods and develop innovative solutions. "This helps to develop domestic products and technologies that are better in quality than their foreign counterparts. Due to this, the technological sovereignty of our country is growing," the mayor emphasized.

Radio electronics showed the most noticeable growth over the past year: according to preliminary estimates, the revenue of more than 870 enterprises in this field increased by 35% in 12 months. In the food industry (350 enterprises), the indicator increased by 13%, in the pharmaceutical and medical sectors (more than 300 enterprises) — by 11% and 15%, respectively. The revenue of more than 20 companies in the rocket and space industry increased by 11%. The performance of more than 50 aviation enterprises increased by 7%, and in the electric vehicle industry, company revenues increased almost 10-fold.

By 2030, the share of high-tech sectors in the revenue of Moscow enterprises should exceed 50%, Sobyanin noted. According to him, these industries will occupy a dominant position in the industrial landscape of the city. "Half of everything the capital produces will be directly related to innovation and advanced technologies," the mayor stressed.

In February, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted the dynamics of the capital's economic development during a working meeting with the mayor of Moscow. Sobyanin said that the gross regional product of the capital has grown by 28% since 2019. The volume of investments in the city's economy has increased by 63% in six years. By 2032, the Moscow authorities plan to increase the volume of industrial space by almost half.
