The media called Russia's nuclear exercises a signal for Europe

The three-day exercises of the Russian nuclear forces are a warning to Europe. The Swiss newspaper Neue Zürcher Zeitung (NZZ) wrote about this on May 21.

"This nuclear maneuver, <... This is probably a warning for Europe. It is intended to remind her that Russia, as a nuclear power, is a force to be reckoned with," the publication says.

It is noted that this time the nuclear exercises were held not in autumn, as is usually the case, but in spring. In addition, they differ from the previous ones in their expanded scale and geographical coverage.

The day before, the Ministry of Defense of Belarus reported that the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation had worked out bringing nuclear weapons to the highest degree of combat readiness during the exercises of the nuclear forces. In addition, during the training, one of the Belarusian missile units occupied the designated area, and the personnel of the republic's army worked out its protection, defense and support.

The Russian Defense Ministry previously announced that the Russian Armed Forces will conduct exercises on the preparation and use of nuclear forces in the face of a potential threat of aggression from May 19 to 21.
