The Russian Foreign Ministry announced Europe's intention to disrupt any negotiations on Ukraine

European states intend to disrupt any negotiations on a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. This was stated on May 21 by the Russian Foreign Ministry's Ambassador-at-large for crimes of the Kiev regime, Rodion Miroshnik.

"If we proceed from the official statements of the leaders of the European Union, the Eurotroika (Great Britain, Germany and France. — Ed.), then we can say that there is an irreconcilable desire to disrupt any kind of negotiations and abandon the political and diplomatic way of resolving the conflict," the diplomat said in an interview with TASS.

Miroshnik explained that the countries first express a desire to negotiate, and then adopt another package of anti-Russian sanctions and provide financial assistance to Kiev. According to him, by such actions, the European Union (EU) demonstrates its unwillingness to resolve the situation peacefully.

The Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry added that the intention to enter into a dialogue with the Russian Federation should be supported by appropriate actions that would demonstrate the EU's readiness for contact.

The European Conservative magazine reported on May 19 that Ukraine would be forced to accept Russia's terms in order for the conflict to end.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on May 20 that President Vladimir Zelensky and his regime were the main obstacle to a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine.

Peskov noted that Moscow remains open to pursuing a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine. At the same time, Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia, said that the negotiation process to resolve the conflict is at an impasse.
