Taxi drivers who stole money from SVO fighters in Sheremetyevo received sentences of up to 17 years

The Khimki Court of the Moscow Region has sentenced four taxi drivers to 10 to 17 years in prison in a criminal case of embezzlement of money from soldiers of a special military operation (SVO) at Sheremetyevo airport. This was reported to Izvestia on May 20 in the press service of the instance.

"All the defendants have been sentenced to real imprisonment for terms from 10 to 17 years," the source said.

The court clarified that the defendants Boniamin Makhmudov, Temur Shekhoyan, Renat Khusainov and Ilya Pavlov were members of a criminal community created to commit grave and especially grave crimes against property.

Convicted of embezzlement of citizens' money, including members of the SVO, traveling through Sheremetyevo airport through theft, robbery, robbery, extortion and fraud.

In total, 700 similar criminal cases were initiated in 2025, and 10 billion rubles were returned to the budget.

Alexander Bastrykin, Chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, announced on January 15 that 38 people had been arrested at Sheremetyevo Airport in the case of embezzlement from ITS members, and two more were wanted. He added that the criminals mostly targeted military personnel traveling through Sheremetyevo Airport on vacation or for treatment after injuries.
