Criminal cases have been opened on violations of safety rules during construction and negligence of officials after the collapse of a school in Sevastopol. This was announced on May 20 in the Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for the region.
"The investigative authorities of the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol are investigating criminal cases on violations of safety rules during construction work <...> and negligence of officials," the agency said in a statement on the channel in Maks.
The investigation revealed that a contract for the overhaul of the school was signed between the State Institution "United Directorate of Capital Construction" and the contractor company. The work was completed in May last year. The organization stated that it had completed the work in full.
