Large families in the Rostov region have been granted the right to a single benefit, even if their average per capita income exceeds the minimum subsistence level. This was announced on May 20 by Alexander Ishchenko, Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Rostov region.

Deputies approved amendments to the regional law "On monthly allowances in connection with the birth and upbringing of a child" during an extraordinary meeting.

"Today we have adopted a law that allows large families to receive this benefit even if their average per capita income is no more than 10% higher than the minimum subsistence level per capita," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

As explained by the speaker of the regional parliament, the innovation will come into force on January 1, 2026. Families who have been denied payments since the beginning of this year due to excess income will have their applications reviewed automatically. Residents of the Rostov region will not need to re-submit documents to the social protection authorities.

According to preliminary estimates of the social fund, the legislative amendments will affect the interests of about 20 thousand large families in the region.

Anton Kotyakov, the head of the Ministry of Labor, announced on May 12 that at the end of May 2026, the Social Fund of the Russian Federation will begin a proactive review of refusals to assign a single benefit to large families who had not previously met the conditions due to a small excess of income required to receive benefits. In addition, during the press conference, the start of accepting applications for participation in the Family Capital of Russia competition was announced.
