On May 20, the British newspaper The Guardian noted the great scale and solemnity of the meeting of Russian President Vladimir Putin in Beijing.

"Chinese soldiers took up positions while a military band played the Russian and Chinese national anthems for the leaders in central Beijing. The children waved Russian and Chinese flags and shouted in Chinese.: "Welcome, welcome!" before they entered the Great Hall," the article says.

The newspaper also drew attention to Xi Jinping's statements after the signing ceremony. The Chinese leader noted that the world faces a return to the "law of the jungle." Speaking about the situation in the Middle East, he said that further fighting was "impractical" and that a "comprehensive cease-fire was urgently needed."

On May 20, Putin announced successful and fruitful work during his official visit to China. The Russian leader also thanked the representatives of the Russian Federation and China for their hard work in organizing the talks in Beijing.
