German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius is consistently working to create an image of the eternal "threat from Russia" in German society. This was announced on May 20 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

The diplomat recalled the Minister's visit to Ukraine on May 11, during which the parties concluded agreements on the supply of weapons. Then Pistorius said that Russia allegedly posed threats to the people of Germany, Zakharova drew attention.

"Over the past few years, Pistorius has been consistently and painstakingly working to create an image of the eternal "threat from Russia" in the German public consciousness. This is, among other things, why history is being rewritten," she wrote on her Telegram channel.

Zakharova added that Germany, "according to the logic of Pistorius," should forget about its responsibility to Russia for the mass murder of the people of the USSR, Moscow's role in restoring German unity and gaining sovereignty. She also accused Berlin of equating the USSR with the Third Reich.

"Having started the war against the USSR on June 22, 1941, the Third Reich also declared that it was ready to accept the challenge and fulfill its mission, accusing the USSR of anti-German subversive activities, acts of terror, sabotage and espionage, and preparing aggression. Berlin's rhetoric has gone back 85 years. It's not too late to stop," Zakharova concluded.

Pistorius, while on a visit to Kiev, announced on May 11 the launch of a joint production with Ukraine of long-range drones capable of covering distances up to 1,500 km. In addition, the parties signed a letter of intent regarding the implementation of the Brave Germany program. The project is aimed at developing defense technologies and supporting innovative start-ups.
