A Russian woman earned more than a million rubles by selling fake tours, deceiving customers who expect to go on vacation. This was reported to Izvestia on May 20 in the Orenburg Region court.

According to the investigation, the woman worked in the field of tourism and decided to get rich. She developed an illicit enrichment scheme, according to which she offered potential clients travel products, entered into contracts with them, received payment, and then simply did not fulfill her obligations.

It is specified that the victims suffered damage totaling 1,113,500 rubles. Now the defendant will have to answer for 47 episodes of fraud.

Specialists of the online hotel and apartment booking service Ostrovok warned tourists about new cheating schemes on May 13 in an interview with Izvestia. According to them, during the tourist seasons, the activity of intruders increases: they begin to operate on websites where they publish fake ads and create fake Internet sites. They recommended that travelers carefully study the sender's addresses, as they may differ slightly from real tour operators.
