Trump talked about the construction of a six-story bunker under the White House
A bunker is being built under the ballroom of the White House, which will go six floors underground. This was announced on May 19 by US President Donald Trump.
"The entire roof [of the ballroom] was built for military purposes. It has a huge capacity for drones. It is not only protected from drone strikes — if a drone hits it, it will bounce off without causing any harm. But it is also intended as a port for drones that will protect the whole of Washington," Reuters quoted Trump as saying.
According to him, the ballroom building, located on top, will perform a protective function for the underground part. Structurally, they are a single whole. A place is provided on the flat roof for sniper positions, from which the whole of Washington will be visible.
Trump added that the glass of the building will be bulletproof with a thickness of about 10 centimeters. The bunker will also house bomb shelters, a military hospital and special rooms for the military. The construction is being carried out at the expense of private donations and is on schedule. The President called the project his gift to the United States.
On April 27, US First Lady Melania Trump installed a beehive on the South Lawn of the White House in connection with the expansion of the honey production and beekeeping program. It is specified that the installation will also become an educational facility, as visitors to the South Lawn will be able to get to know more about the work of the bee colony and learn more about pollination and food production.
