A pensioner who pushed a girl on her way to the Moscow metro has been declared insane and sent for compulsory medical treatment. This was announced on May 20 by the Moscow prosecutor's office.

"By a court order, compulsory medical measures were applied to her in the form of compulsory treatment in a medical organization providing psychiatric care in specialized inpatient settings," the Telegram channel says.

It is specified that the woman suffers from a chronic mental disorder. Experts have established that at the time of the crime she could not have realized the actual nature and social danger of her actions.

The Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia in November last year reported that in the Moscow metro, a pensioner, while on the platform of the Taganskaya station, pushed a 13-year-old girl on the way. A criminal case has been opened into the incident on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 30, Part 1 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Attempted murder").
