Putin noted the importance of the study of the Second World War by Russia and China

On May 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin stressed the importance of joint Russian-Chinese research on World War II.

"I consider it fundamentally important that the Russian Historical Society and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences begin preparing a comprehensive large—scale study on the Second World War," Putin said at the opening ceremony of the cross-Years of Russian-Chinese cooperation in education, an entry posted on the Kremlin's website.

According to the head of state, the study will focus on the crucial role of Russia and China in defeating Nazism and Japanese militarism, as well as the inadmissibility of distorting the historical truth.

Putin also addressed the young participants of the Russian-Chinese educational and scientific exchanges, wishing them to find a vocation, realize themselves in their chosen field and achieve high results.
