When the wreckage of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) fell in the Kstovsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region, two industrial facilities caught fire. This was announced on May 20 by Governor Gleb Nikitin.
"At night and in the morning, 30 UAVs were shot down in the Nizhny Novgorod region. According to preliminary data, there are no casualties. The falling debris caused damage and subsequent burning of two industrial facilities in the Kstovsky district," Gorenje said in a message on the Maks messenger.
The head of the region clarified that he had worked in the headquarters at the facilities. He added that experts are now engaged in the localization of the flame and the elimination of the consequences of the incident.
Nikitin added that schools in the area had temporarily switched to remote operation. Now, according to him, an unmanned danger remains in the Nizhny Novgorod region, and the air defense systems continue their work.
The governor of the Stavropol Territory, Vladimir Vladimirov, announced on the same day that air defense systems had repelled an attack by drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on an industrial zone in the city of Nevinnomyssk. It was noted that no one was injured as a result of the incident. An unmanned danger also persisted in the region.
