NMG has signed cooperation agreements with leading media structures in China
During the official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to China on May 20, the National Media Group (NMG) signed cooperation agreements with leading Chinese media structures — China Daily, Media Corporation of China (CMG) and Xinhua.
"The signed agreements open up new opportunities for the development of international cooperation between NMG and the strengthening of professional ties between Russian and Chinese media. We are expanding cooperation both in the field of content exchange and in the field of technological solutions, which will make it possible to work more effectively with an international audience and create modern standards for working with information in a digital environment. We are grateful to our partners from Xinhua and the Media Corporation of China for the already successful cooperation and see new horizons in these partnerships. Thus, with the support of the Media Corporation of China, unprecedented information support was provided to the Chinese distribution of the joint Russian-Chinese film "Red Silk". And thanks to the cooperation with Xinhua, information interaction between Russia and China has reached a higher quality level. Further expansion of our joint work will allow us to acquaint Russian and Chinese viewers with the best examples of content from both countries, improve the accuracy and depth of coverage of events and contribute to the development of a bilateral cultural and information dialogue between our countries," said Svetlana Balanova, Director General of NMG.
The agreement with China Daily provides for the exchange of news content, exclusive materials and editorial interaction in promoting key topics. A separate focus will be the promotion of the English-language version of the Izvestia website for an international audience through the platforms of the Chinese edition.
NMG and the Media Corporation of China also agreed to expand cooperation in covering events related to Russia, China and the activities of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), as well as to create a direct communication mechanism between editors-in-chief to support coverage of extraordinary and particularly significant events.
In addition, the key direction of the new stage of cooperation with the Chinese news agency Xinhua. The agreement provides for joint work on digital solutions for the production, processing and distribution of news content.
"The new cooperation agreement is expected to further deepen cooperation between the parties in areas such as the exchange of news information, the use of new media technologies and training, as well as comprehensively strengthen a close and pragmatic partnership. The Xinhua News Agency is ready to work with the National Media Group under the strategic leadership of the two heads of state to contribute to deepening the comprehensive strategic partnership and coordination between China and Russia in a new era," said Fu Hua, president of the Xinhua News Agency.
On May 19, NMG and the Shidao Technology Park, which is part of Shenzhen, signed a strategic partnership agreement in the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and the technological transformation of the media industry. The agreement defines NMG's model of cooperation with leading Chinese technology corporations, focused on the transfer of advanced AI solutions to Russia, their scaling in the holding's ecosystem and the commercialization of new digital products.
