The US Congress revealed the losses of the American Air Force during the conflict with Iran

The fleet of tanker aircraft suffered serious damage. According to the report, the Air Force lost seven KC-135 Stratotanker air tankers. One of them crashed in Iraq, five more were damaged on the ground in Saudi Arabia during the Iranian attack.

Four F-15E Strike Eagle fighter-bombers and an A-10 Thunderbolt II attack aircraft are mentioned among the losses of combat aircraft. According to CRS, three F-15Es were shot down by friendly fire over Kuwait, and another by Iranian air defense systems.

During the search and rescue operations, the US military deliberately destroyed two MC-130J Commando II special operations aircraft on the ground. The HH-60W Jolly Green II helicopter was also damaged.

Additionally, the report mentions damage to the E-3 Sentry long-range radar detection aircraft and the latest fifth-generation F-35A Lightning II fighter.

The Iran War Cost Tracker portal reported on May 11 that the US costs of conducting a military operation in the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) exceeded $77 billion. According to him, the first six days of the operation cost Washington $11.3 billion. It is noted that the calculation takes into account the costs of maintaining personnel, ships deployed to the region, as well as other related expenses.
