The director of the ZAES reported on the Ukrainian Armed Forces strike on the medical unit of Energodar

The Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) attacked the medical and sanitary part of the city of Energodar last night, damaging the cars of doctors, as well as the car of the Ministry of Emergency Situations. This was announced on May 19 by Director of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) Yuri Chernichuk.

He noted that the inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) stationed at the station were immediately alerted about the incident.

"We provided information <...> in detail about the fact of damage to a fire truck at the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and about yesterday's arrival on the territory of our medical unit with damage to medical vehicles," TASS quoted Chernichuk as saying.

A new rotation of IAEA experts is also planned.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said yesterday that Kiev's ongoing attacks on Russia's nuclear energy infrastructure would not have been possible without the support of Western countries. She added that the representatives of the IAEA who were at the NPP site apparently "suddenly became blind and deaf," as they did not respond to the attack on the facility on May 16.

On May 16, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the territory of the NPP with the help of drones. The drone crashed near the power units, but did not detonate. Alexey Likhachev, the head of Rosatom, stressed that the purpose of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is to sow panic among the population and disrupt the usual way of peaceful life in Energodar.
