Russia and China intend to increase student exchange to 100,000 people by 2030

By 2030, it is planned to increase the number of exchange students between Russia and China to 100,000 people on each side. This was announced on May 19 by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Tatyana Golikova in an interview with Izvestia correspondent Nikolai Ivanov.

According to her, educational exchanges between the two countries continue to grow. Currently, 56,000 students are participating in them.

"Indeed, our exchanges are growing. And we plan to have 100,000 students from each country by 2030," she said.

Golikova noted that the parties expect a further increase in indicators, especially in the framework of joint years of education. The Deputy Prime Minister added that Russia and China have already approved relevant work plans.

Earlier in the day, the Xinhua news agency reported that Russia and China continue to intensively expand their cooperation not only in trade and economic, but also in the educational sphere: in recent years, the parties have exchanged thousands of students.

In an address on the eve of his visit to China, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that relations between Russia and China have reached an unprecedented level of development. The Head of State stressed that the countries are actively developing contacts in politics, economics and defense, expanding humanitarian exchange and "encouraging interpersonal communication."
