Changan localizes eight new and updated models in Russia

Changan's Russian division has announced the expansion of its production program at the Kaliningrad Avtotor plant. During 2026, the company plans to localize the production of eight new and updated models in popular market segments. These include crossovers, liftbacks, and pickups. This is stated in the message of the press service of the Chinese brand, which was received by Izvestia on May 19.

As part of its development strategy in the Russian market, the company has secured three production lines with a total annual capacity of 120,000 vehicles. By the end of 2025, 7859 Changan vehicles, represented by the Uni and Deepal models, rolled off the assembly line. In 2026, it is planned to multiply the volume of production. In the first months of this year, more than 14 thousand cars have already been produced in Kaliningrad.

Currently, the Changan brand is represented in 96 cities of the country, with a sales network of more than 200 dealerships and service centers. The company currently operates 16 warehouse sites: 10 facilities in the Moscow region and six regional warehouses across Russia. It is stated that the central spare parts warehouse in the Moscow region with an area of 30 thousand square meters provides operational support to the dealer network throughout the country, and the delivery time of spare parts from China has been reduced to two weeks.

The company also noted that Changan's sales in Russia increased from 8,000 to almost 40,000 vehicles per year, and the Russian market remains a "strategically important and long-term growing area" for the company.
