The Ministry of Transport will expand the functionality of the taxi registry

Users of the Maks messenger will be able to check the legality of a taxi through the app before boarding the car. Alexander Kislyakov, Director of the Situation center of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation, told about this on May 19.

To check the legality of the carrier, you will need to take a photo of the taxi's license plate number or enter it into the application, TASS reports.

According to Kislyakov, the integration of the taxi registry with the Maks messenger is planned to be launched during the current year. He noted that this innovation is designed to improve transportation safety. Information from the register is also provided to regional and federal services, the representative of the Ministry of Transport added.

On March 4, the Ministry of Industry and Trade published a list of domestically produced cars that fall under the approved parameters of the law on taxi localization. The ministry recalled that the list suggests the possibility of regular updates, taking into account models that will be produced in Russia under the SPIC with commitments to deepen localization.
