"The only thing that is growing faster than the artificial intelligence industry is the negative attitude of Americans towards it. <...> In the course of numerous surveys conducted in recent weeks, respondents overwhelmingly expressed concern about artificial intelligence, which contradicts the statements of industry leaders that their technology will gain popularity by improving people's lives," the material says.

According to the newspaper, Americans are afraid of massive job losses. They are also outraged by the sharp rise in energy prices, which is being exacerbated by the proliferation of data centers. American parents worry that AI "undermines education and harms children's mental health."

"Sociologists and historians argue that the sharp deterioration of public opinion is almost unprecedented in its speed. <...> According to political analysts, the rapid increase in the importance of concerns about AI as a political issue that creates confusion in ordinary election campaigns and rearranges party confrontations is also unprecedented," the newspaper writes.
