The history of the Great Steppe and the Golden Horde is often simplified to an endless series of battles and battles of steppe peoples, thereby belittling its real influence on world history. This was stated by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, speaking at the symposium "The Golden Horde as a model of steppe civilization: history, archeology, culture, identity" in Astana.

"This (the history of the Golden Horde — Ed.) is one of the most important pages in the annals of our country and all mankind," the Kazakh leader was quoted as saying on his press service's Telegram channel.

Tokayev stressed that the main objective of the symposium, which will last several days, is to strengthen ties with the world scientific community for a systematic and comprehensive comprehensive analysis of this issue. The President of Kazakhstan noted that the holding of this event under UNESCO highlights the global historical significance of the Golden Horde's heritage.

On May 12, the National Bank of Kazakhstan announced the release of a silver collector's coin dedicated to the Golden Horde. The ministry explained that the historical heritage of this state occupies an important place in shaping the statehood and cultural identity of the peoples of Eurasia, including the territory of modern Kazakhstan.
