Practicing psychologist Eduard Shamsutdinov on Tuesday, May 19, told how sport affects the human psyche.

In an interview with Radio 1, the specialist explained that any sport, both team and individual, helps to cope with stress and has a positive effect on the emotional state. According to him, football and basketball develop social skills, confidence and reduce anxiety, tennis improves concentration and stress tolerance, and swimming promotes relaxation and improves sleep.

Shamsutdinov added that running increases endorphin levels and helps fight depression, yoga reduces stress and develops mindfulness, and martial arts strengthen discipline and self-confidence. Strength training also improves well-being and self-esteem.

The expert stressed that each sport can be adapted to the level of training, and regular physical activity has a positive effect on overall health and mental and emotional state.

Expert Daria Kozhevnikova told NSN on May 5 that any negative thoughts should be turned into physical activity, as it is easier to solve problems with dopamine. At the same time, she advised to avoid strict numerical requirements for oneself in matters of sports, that is, not to set a goal, for example, to walk exactly 10,000 steps.

In April, Svetlana Trubitsyna, a psychologist at the Russian Cycling Federation, told Life.ru that cycling helps to reduce anxiety levels. She noted that during the trip, the brain switches to rhythmic physical activity, which changes brain rhythms and reduces anxiety levels, writes 360.ru .

Clinical psychologist Elizaveta Kulikova warned that a sudden transition to a healthy lifestyle can become a stressful factor for the body and psyche. According to the expert, body care should be based on self-love, not on guilt or the pursuit of fashion, reports RT.

At the same time, psychiatrist-narcologist Sergey Litkov explained the causes of spring anxiety. According to him, many people may experience panic attacks in the spring due to body restructuring and lifestyle changes.

Previously Pravda.Ru, citing experts, wrote that physical activity makes a person happier, including through communication: group workouts and clubs give a sense of togetherness. Synchronous movements with others include the "we mode" — a state of intimacy and trust.
