Tommy Hilfiger brand may lose trademark protection in Russia
The Intellectual Property Rights Court has begun considering a claim for the early termination of the legal protection of Tommy Hilfiger trademarks in Russia. This was reported to Izvestia on May 19 by the court's press service.
It is clarified that the individual entrepreneur demanded to stop protecting signs with the designation Tommy Hilfiger according to international registrations, as well as according to the Russian certificate.
We are talking about clothes, shoes and hats. At a preliminary hearing on May 18, the preparation of the case was declared completed — the trial is scheduled for July 7 of this year.
In April, the sports goods manufacturer Puma applied for trademark registration in Russia. The brand plans to register a trademark for sportswear, bags, and protective gear.
