The economist named the maximum amount of the insurance pension in 2026

The maximum amount of an insurance pension in 2026 may amount to almost 74 thousand rubles. This was announced on May 19 by Igor Balynin, Candidate of Economics, Associate Professor at the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation.

According to the expert, in order to achieve this amount, it is necessary to receive the maximum number of pension points annually for many years.

"If a citizen has been forming 10 pension coefficients (PKI) for 40 years, and also has coefficients for socially significant periods, for example, in the amount of 10.5 PKI, then he will get 410.5. Then the amount of the insurance pension may amount to 73,934 rubles," Balynin explained in an interview with RIA Novosti.

He clarified that in order to calculate the maximum 10 individual pension coefficients in 2026, an official monthly salary of about 248 thousand rubles will be required. The economist noted that such incomes are already found in high-paying industries.
