Titov announced a sharp increase in tourist traffic between Russia and China
In January–March 2026, Russians made 396,000 tourist trips to China, which is 62.4% more than in the same period of 2025. This was announced on May 18 by the press service of Boris Titov, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Relations with International organizations for achieving Sustainable Development Goals.
"At the beginning of 2026, China took the third place among the most popular destinations for Russian tourists, second only to Egypt and Turkey," TASS reports.
According to the special representative of the President of the Russian Federation, if the current dynamics are maintained, the People's Republic of China may enter the top two most popular destinations among Russians.
Alexander Perepelkin, founder of the premium travel agency PrimeTours, announced on April 12 that prices for tourist trips to China are not expected to rise in the face of a redistribution of demand, despite an increase in interest from Russians. He clarified that price stability is also ensured by government support and a well-developed internal infrastructure.
