- Khusnullin stated the need of the Russian Federation for thousands of kilometers of high-speed roads
Russia needs to build thousands more kilometers of high-speed roads, taking into account the development of international transport corridors. This was announced on May 19 by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin.
"If we count the international Eastern corridor, the highways connecting us with Mongolia, China, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan, then, of course, we need thousands more kilometers of roads and billions of dollars to attract investment in transport infrastructure," he said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to Khusnullin, about 3.7 thousand km of expressways have been built in Russia using extra-budgetary sources. At the same time, about 10 thousand km of such trails are required only within the country.
