Kaliningrad called Lithuania's call for NATO to attack the region hysterical
The calls by Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kastutis Budris for the North Atlantic Alliance to attack the Kaliningrad region are a hysterical and thoughtless act by a representative of a state in deep economic crisis. This was announced on May 18 by Evgeny Mishin, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on International and Interregional Relations, Security and Law and Order of the Legislative Assembly of the region.
"The state that is actually in hysterics, there is no other way to say it. They are ready to spend 70-80% of their internal budget on expanding the military alliance and their presence. Here we can say that this is some kind of hysteria around us. And absolutely thoughtless actions on the part of this neighboring state," Mishin said in an interview with TASS.
According to the parliamentarian, such attacks are becoming regular and are associated with increased information pressure. The initiators of such statements are trying to violate the rules of the law of the sea and the rules of navigation.
Mishin stressed that the appeals of the Lithuanian side are groundless. He added that there are regular demands in the West to remove missile forces from the region or to review the volume of weapons in the Kaliningrad region.
