The Foreign Ministers of Turkey, Bangladesh, Brazil, Indonesia, Spain, Colombia, Libya, Maldives, Pakistan and Jordan condemned the Israeli attacks on the Global Sumud Flotilla. This was stated on May 18 in a joint statement by the foreign ministers.
"The Foreign Ministers of the Republic of Turkey, the People's Republic of Bangladesh, the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Republic of Indonesia, the Kingdom of Spain, the Republic of Colombia, the State of Libya, the Republic of Maldives, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan strongly condemn Israel's repeated attacks on the Global Sumud Flotilla, a peaceful civilian humanitarian initiative aimed at attracting the attention of the international community. to the humanitarian catastrophe that the Palestinian people are suffering from," the Turkish newspaper Akşam quoted the statement as saying.
The Ministers recalled Israel's previous actions against flotillas in international waters and condemned continued hostile actions against civilian vessels and humanitarian aid activists.
The statement stresses that attacks on ships and the arbitrary detention of activists are a violation of international law and international humanitarian law.
On May 10, the Naval forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) announced that in the event of an attack on Iranian oil tankers and merchant vessels, US bases and ships would be retaliated against.
