The Central Bank announced the release of new commemorative coins on a sports theme

In 2026, the Central Bank of Russia will issue a commemorative coin dedicated to figure skating, and in 2027 — rhythmic gymnastics. This was announced on May 18 by Antonina Orlova, head of the Commemorative Coin Issue Department of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.

"The issue of silver coins related to sports will be supported. A coin dedicated to hockey was released in 2025, a coin dedicated to figure skating is scheduled to be released in 2026, and rhythmic gymnastics in 2027," TASS quoted Orlova as saying.

She also said that in 2026 it is planned to issue five coins dedicated to the most titled football clubs in the country. According to Orlova, the images of Olympic sports on coins especially resonate in the souls of Russian citizens.

On January 20, the Central Bank of Russia issued a commemorative silver coin of the Outstanding Personalities of Russia series, dedicated to the 200th anniversary of the birth of writer Mikhail Saltykov-Shchedrin. On the front side there is a relief image of the state emblem of the Russian Federation, as well as the name of the country, the issuer, the nominal value and the year of issue — 2026.
