The Ministry of Labor recalled the right of a man to take a vacation during his wife's maternity leave

In Russia, a man can take annual paid leave for the period when his spouse is on maternity leave. This was announced on May 18 by the press service of the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation.

"If the expectant mother is on maternity leave, her spouse can go on annual paid leave at the same time," Maks said in a statement.

It is noted that the employer has no right to refuse to provide it. The department clarified that a vacation can be issued both before the birth of a child and after. At the same time, the vacation schedule and work experience do not matter.

In addition, a parent can use the entire vacation, or only part of it. To do this, you need to write an application for granting or postponing vacation days.

On May 12, the Ministry of Labor of the Russian Federation also noted that when twins are born in a family, both parents can take parental leave at once if both of them work. A monthly child care allowance is also provided for each parent.
