Zenit St. Petersburg football club beat Rostov 1-0 and became the 11-time champion of Russia in football. The meeting was held on May 17 at the Rostov Arena.

The only goal of the match was scored by striker Alexander Sobolev with a penalty kick in the 14th minute. Thus, the blue-white-blues surpassed Spartak Moscow's record for the number of gold medals in the championship.

At the end of the 2025/2026 season of the Russian Premier League (RPL), the team from St. Petersburg scored 68 points.
