Fico called Orban's mistake blocking the EU loan for Ukraine
Former Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban made a mistake by blocking the European Union's decision to grant Ukraine a loan of €90 billion. This statement was made on May 16 by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico at a meeting with students, a recording of which was posted on the YouTube channel.
He noted that he himself also opposed granting Ukraine a loan and therefore refused to participate in the discussion and decision-making on this issue, however, he considered it wrong to block the already agreed loan in accordance with international law.
"In my opinion, Viktor Orban made a mistake in this. You cannot block what has already been agreed, what is simply accepted," Fico said.
He also added that there remains a significant "space for a sovereign policy."
