Celebrating its 95th anniversary, Sokolniki Park is a popular space for folk festivals and a unique venue where the connection between eras and traditions is carefully preserved. This opinion was shared by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin on his channel in Maks.

In particular, last season, the renovated Ice rink became a "point of attraction for the townspeople," which brought together over 200,000 guests, the mayor noted.

According to Sobyanin, the comprehensive landscaping and rehabilitation of the park will continue this year. Previously, the spaces around the Golden and Bolshoy Putyaevsky ponds had already been put in order, children's and sports grounds had been equipped, and the stalls had been transformed.

The upcoming works will take place on an area of about 112 hectares. "At the cascade of Deer Ponds, we plan to return the gazebo and the bridge to its historical site, create walking and sports areas, and renovate the children's area," the mayor said.

It is also planned to install a pavilion-gazebo for small events on the shore of the Lower May Pond and to improve the space around the reservoir. In addition, the Health Trail update will be completed.

We continue to develop the Center for the Restoration and Adaptation of Birds at the Moscow Zoo. There will be a dressing room at the Central Stage.

On Saturday, the birthday of Sokolniki Park, guests will enjoy historical reconstructions and mini-performances about key eras of the park's life. Interactive quests, thematic workshops, a concert program and a performance by the park choir will also take place in Sokolniki.

In 2025, Sokolniki also renovated the main fountain. The fountain complex "Music of Glory" in Kuzminki and the dry fountain in Dubrava Park in Kurkin were also repaired, Sobyanin said at the end of April, informing about the opening of the fountain season in the capital.

According to the mayor, Moscow has hundreds of fountains — dry, semi-dry, floating, musical and light-dynamic. Before the launch, specialists repaired communications, put pumping stations and hydraulics in order, rinsed the bowls and filled them with water, the head of the capital said.
