Trump declared unwillingness to fight with China in case of Taiwan independence
US President Donald Trump would not want to go to war against China if Taiwan declares independence. The politician said this in an interview with Fox News channel on May 15.
He expressed the hope that the situation would not worsen against the background of disagreements between the parties.
"I'll say this: I don't want anyone to follow the path of independence, because, as you know, it was assumed that we would need to travel 9,5 thousand miles (more than 15,2 thousand km - Ed.) to wage war. I don't want that. I would like them to calm down. I want China to calm down," Trump said.
