In the Irkutsk region, 3,580 people have been affected by ticks since the beginning of the epidemic season. This is reported by the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor.

"Since the beginning of the epidemic season, 3,580 residents of the region have sought medical help for tick bites. Over the past week, 1,771 appeals have been registered," the message says.

According to IA IrkutskMedia, in the city of Ust-Ilimsk, a child was diagnosed with tick-borne encephalitis. In addition, a child living in the Bokhansky district has been confirmed to have tick-borne rickettsiosis.

Acaricide treatments against ticks are continuing in the region. As of May 15, more than 1 thousand hectares have been cultivated, and a total of 3.1 thousand hectares are planned to be covered.

Earlier it was reported that Rospotrebnadzor compiled a list of regions where there is an increased risk of infection with tick-borne viral encephalitis. Later, the department stressed that in many cases it is not about the entire territory of the subject, but only about individual administrative regions.
