Lukashenko called the United States the main supplier of humanitarian aid to Belarus. What is known

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said on May 15 that about two thirds of the humanitarian aid received by the country comes from the United States.

"They say, 'Sanctions, sanctions,' but the Americans are doing great. The United States has your share in this humanitarian aid, thank you," Lukashenko said.

A message to Trump

The President of Belarus conveyed his "best wishes" to US President Donald Trump through Graham. He assured that the American leader has "reliable friends and supporters."

"At the meeting — I know you have good relations with President [Trump] — give him your best wishes and tell him that he has reliable friends and supporters in Belarus," the BelTA news agency quoted Lukashenko as saying.

Graham responded by saying that the head of the White House wants to improve relations with Minsk, and expressed hope for an early meeting between the two presidents.

Release of prisoners and lifting of sanctions

The meeting between Lukashenko and Graham was a continuation of the dialogue that began after the talks between the Belarusian leader and special envoy of the US President John Cole.

In March 2026, Washington decided to lift sanctions against Belinvestbank, the Development Bank and the Ministry of Finance of Belarus. The American president called the telephone conversation between Lukashenko and Trump in August 2025 wonderful, noting the fruitfulness of the discussions themselves.
