- The cosmetologist who caused the attack on the journalists of REN TV was given a preventive measure
Cosmetologist Natalia Beletskaya, who was attacked by the crew of the program "Emergency Call" of the REN TV channel in Zelenograd, was given a preventive measure in the form of a ban on certain actions for two months. This was reported on May 15 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.
A criminal case has been opened into the incident on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Article 144 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Obstruction of the legitimate professional activities of journalists"). Beletskaya's assistant and the man who attacked the film crew are also preparing to choose a measure of restraint.
The incident occurred on May 14 during the filming of a story about the work of a specialist who gave a client an inter-eyebrow injection, after which she stated that she was blind in one eye. The correspondent tried to ask the staff of the private medical office about the situation, but Beletskaya refused to comment. The man in the office attacked the journalists, threw their camera on the tile, pushed the correspondent to the floor and jumped on the cameraman, threatening to leave the team without equipment.
On the same day, Yulia Ivanova, a representative of the Main Investigative Department (SU) of the Investigative Committee (IC) in Moscow, told Izvestia that the defendants in the attack on the crew of the Emergency Call program of the REN TV channel in Zelenograd had been charged, and the investigation intended to request their arrest.
