Scientists from the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Institute of Space Research (IKI) Earlier on May 15, a magnetic storm was compared to the "monstrous plan" of the villain Joker from the Batman comics.

In their Telegram channel, the researchers showed a graph of the speed of the solar wind. According to scientists, the indicator was growing rapidly at 16:00 Moscow time, approaching the red line of peak values. Under the infographic, the press service of the IKI RAS quoted the Joker.

"No one panics when everything goes according to plan. Even if the plan is monstrous," said the villain in Christopher Nolan's film The Dark Knight.

Scientists also urged weather-dependent people to "stick it out."

On May 7, the Institute of Applied Geophysics reported that a strong M2.6 class flare lasting 70 minutes occurred on the Sun. Seven groups of spots were registered on the visible disk of the Sun. At the same time, the researchers added that solar flare activity soon decreased.
