The import of used cars from China to Russia increased 2.4 times
In January-April of this year, 28.9 thousand used passenger cars were imported from China to Russia. This is 2.4 times (+140%) more than in the same period last year, when the country received 12 thousand such machines. Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, told about this in his Telegram channel on May 15.
More than a quarter of the import of used cars from China accounted for the Volkswagen brand — 7711 cars. Audi (3,654 units), Toyota (3,059 units), Honda (2,266 units) and BMW (1,910 units) also appeared in the top five popular brands.
At the same time, as the expert noted, there are not so many Chinese-made cars imported. In total, they account for less than 12.4% of imports (3,660 units). The most popular models are the Haval, Jetta and Geely brands.
The most popular used car imported from China was the Toyota Corolla, with 2,136 copies of this model arriving in Russia in four months. The top three are Volkswagen Tayron (1988 units) and Audi Q3 (1574 units). Next are Audi A3 and two Volkswagen Tharu and Golf. The top ten was rounded out by Hyundai Elantra, Honda Vezel, BMW X1 and Volkswagen T-Roc.
As reported on May 13, in April, the average cost of a used car no older than 15 years of the domestic brand was 729 thousand rubles, which is 0.6% lower than in March. For Chinese—made cars, this figure remained at 2.26 million rubles, while for other foreign cars it was 2.42 million rubles (+1.2%).
