Likhachev spoke about the construction of the Balkhash NPP in Kazakhstan

Alexey Likhachev, CEO of the Rosatom State Corporation, said on May 15 that the Balkhash nuclear power plant (NPP) in Kazakhstan would be built on the basis of Russian technologies, and Rosatom would become a key vendor of the entire project.

"Balkhash station should have a clear project tied to local conditions, but based on basic Russian technologies, because Rosatom is designated as a key vendor," he said during a meeting with Almasadam Satkaliev, head of the Atomic Agency of Kazakhstan.

The CEO of Rosatom said that a project of this scale almost always requires intergovernmental agreements, as well as commercial and contractual obligations. Very precise work planning and staff training are also important for its launch.
