Since the beginning of the warm season, almost 1.65 thousand cases of tick bites have been registered in Primorsky Krai. Pest activity decreased by 10% compared to the same period last year.

According to PrimaMedia news agency, 43.2% of ticks turned out to be carriers of various infections — borreliosis, ehrlichiosis and anaplasmosis. Most often, in 57% of cases, ticks carried rickettsiosis.

Doctors remind you that if a tick is sucked, it should be carefully removed and the parasite should be taken to a laboratory for examination. If an infection is detected, you should contact your doctor for emergency prevention.

Earlier it was reported that five regions of the Ural Federal District were at risk of infection with tick-borne encephalitis. The disease is transmitted by pests in the Kurgan, Sverdlovsk, Tyumen, Chelyabinsk regions and the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug.
